What You See
Kammie stands at about 5'6" and weights 113 pounds. She has a lean runner's body, with enough curves to get her noticed if she so wishes. Her hair is mostly curly, and lately the curls have gotten more pronounced. Her hair is a golden brown, with a slight tinge of orange-red if you look intently. Her skin is slightly tanned, but not enough to keep people from thinking she's a pale person. Her eyes are a deep blue, the color getting darker and deeper the closer to the outer rim of the iris.
Kammie's skin isn't flawless. Her back is marred with a variety of disfiguring scars, and they are the one thing she's ashamed about. She's never told anybody about these scars, and they are always covered by her clothes.
She wears modest clothing, wearing mostly jeans and a t-shirt. Lately she's ventured out to buy a few skin-tight shirts, but that's the closest anyone will get to seeing her body unless they catch her swimming. When she's in sports, Kammie wears shorts and almost reach her knees, as she can't stand the let-my-booty-hang-out style of most girls' attire.

What You Get
Shy: Kammie is a very shy girl, and has a hard time making friends. She will never be the one to talk unless dire circumstances come up or she has been addressed first. However, that doesn't mean she can't speak up. She's known to have quite a voice the few times she's had to use it. Even if it's hard for her to make friends, Kammie can be one of the most loyal and trustworthy friends if you go through the arduous task of getting to know her.
Smart: Whether it be a simple everyday task or a life-or-death situation, Kammie is quick-witted and able to get herself out of almost any situation. Her love of reading has also expanded her vocabulary, and she has a habit of using complex words to say simple things.
Stubborn: When Kammie has her mind set on something, one will find it very hard to make her change her course. Unless one wants to find themselves facing a very angry, un-Kammie-like person, they'd do best to stay away from trying to change her mind. Maybe a more subtle approach would work.
Optimistic: Pessimism is not a word in Kammie's dictionary. She never lets herself fall to hopelessness, and will always be the light in any dark situation. Some may not like her for this, but Kammie's optimism has gotten her through otherwise crippling times in life.
Things Aren't How They Used to Be
Born in Japan while her parents were stationed in different countries, Kammies ended up being trilingual; she learned English from her mom, German from her father, and Japanese from school and friends. She doesn't quite know which language is her 'native tongue', but she tends to use English more often than the other two. The first four years of her life was spent with her family.
The next six years of her life was spent living in Japan with her mom while her dad continually moved about the world. He visited a couple times a month, always bringing Kammie a book about the place he just came from. Eventually Kammie had a whole library on the world, its countries, their histories and customs, and so much more. Kammie may not've known her father very well by then, but he always tried to write letters in his spare time. Through the traditional form of mail, Kammie learned of her father's travels and how he missed home.
When Kammie turned 10 her mother suddenly died one morning while driving to work. Kammie was hustled away into the custody of her father, who was then stationed somewhere in the United States. Kammie, devastated at her mother's death but hopeful to become close to her father, was neglected and forgotten. Something was wrong.
On her 14th birthday Kammie's dad -who she now realizes was a Controller- took her to the Yeerk pool with the intentions of having her head and body invaded and taken over. By twist of fate and ignorance on the Yeerk's part, she was placed next to a cage holding an Andalite. After a short talk with the her, the Andalite bestowed the gift of animorphing onto her with the hopes of helping her escape. Kammie, confused and almost overwhelmed, then proceeded to absorb as many nearby creatures' DNA as she could under the watchful eyes of the Yeerk and the gentle Andalite.
Two years later, Kammie is still uncertain as to how she got out. She hasn't seen the Andalite since then, but she knows in her heart that everything he told her was true. She's spent much of her time gathering animals DNA, and now waits to find the other Animorphs she was told about so hurriedly.

The sun's rays pierced the water, drawing Kammie's attention as a swarm of fish swam by. The salmon in her wanted to catch and eat the fish, but she refused to let it. Thinking back to the first and only time she'd lost control of herself, Kammie's human mind saddened. So many things went wrong that day. She admitted, then let her mind drift off into happier times. Looking back up at the sky, she figured that about an hour and a half had gone by. More than she usually was in animal form.
Letting the salmon drift towards the surface of the water, she concentrated on changing into her human body. Her back fins started to grow and take the shape of legs, while her side fins began turning into arms. Eventually her head began growing, forming the bigger skull to house the bigger brain. Her spine made an odd cracking noise, the sound magnified in the water as her spine grew and connected to the hipbones that had formed.
By then Kammie looked human, save her shiny skin and gilled neck. Stopping the transformation, she swam towards the shore, using her gills to breathe as much as she used the air. The swim was short but invigorating. Reaching the land, Kammie stood up and let the transformation finish. Looking again at the water, she sighed and turned her naked body to pick up her clothes. I should really learn how to morph back into clothes.
